Zoology

Feature Writer: John Blatchford
Zoology is the study of all animal life. There are over 30 animal phyla, and I initially worked my through them all, showing how modern research is improving our understanding of the way all animals are related (evolution), and how DNA studies are throwing up a few surprises.
After this I turned my attention to 'engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences' (the aim of the 'Society of Biology' to which I was elected a 'Fellow' in 2009). My recent articles attempt to show how fascinating zoology can be.
